There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered. ~
Back in 2014 I offered the very first iteration of what is now the Becoming Unleashed Circle. That first iteration was called Being & Becoming and was based on Maureen Murdock’s The Heroine’s Journey. Over the years the circle evolved, as did it’s name. The third offering of the circle was titled the Unbecoming Circle, the fourth was Wild Woman Within, and last year and this year the name is Becoming Unleashed. This offering has also changed in duration with each iteration: very first offering of this circle was one month, then it became three, then nine months, then it a year long, and finally last year it settled into a six month offering, which feels good and right for the work we now do.
With each iteration of this circle there were shifts, changes. As I shifted internally, my work also shifted. As I went deeper in my own work, so did my offerings.
Now here we are, the sixth iteration of this intimate online women’s circle. Many of the reasons I offer this circle are the same as they were with the very first offering over four years ago. And of course there are many new reasons too.
What I love about this work, about this circle, is that I see it as a living breathing entity. It shifts and grows with time, as we all do when we are doing this intense and intimate work of self-awareness and personal growth.
My biggest why for this circle this year :: I know from my own lived experience how deeply and broadly these stories of being too much, not being enough, and all the shame we carry impacts the ways we show up in the world and for and to our Self.
Those narratives keep us small. Silent. Compliant. Complicit.
Those narratives keep us accepting abuse, neglect, betrayal.
Those narratives keep us dissociated, dis-embodied, and living in the past or future but never the present.
Those narratives keep us settling for crumbs and scraps instead of demanding a full slice of the pie (or even the whole pie if we are wanting!)
Those narratives keep us from wanting at all. They keep us denying ourselves. They keep us starving ourselves, both literally or metaphorically.
Those narratives keep us in survival mode and stop us from thriving.
Those narratives have us making excuses, for ourselves and others, for harmful behaviors, for stagnancy, for remaining entrenched in the status quo.
When we are stagnant, complicit, entrenched in the status quo, we can’t see ourselves or others as we really are. We aren’t open to all the possibilities this life can offer us. We feel stuck, and yet are unable to find ways for us to get unstuck.
The Becoming Unleashed Circle is all about finding our ways out of stuckness. It is about acknowledging and intimately examining our own personal (which are often also universal) narratives of how we are too much (too big, too loud, too demanding, too needy, too, too, too); not enough (not good enough, not smart enough, not sexy enough, not accomplished enough, not enough, not enough, not enough); and all the shame that we carry because of these stories.
It is about release.
It is about renewal and restructuring and reforming.
It is about reclamation.
It is an opportunity to unearth, examine, explore, and become deeply aware of these narratives we all carry and the unique ways they impact each of us.
It is a chance to unlearn and learn more about the discomfort of transformation, of the in-between, of sitting in the unknown and being present to ourselves and those who matter most to us during the process.
It is a space to reclaim all those parts of your Self you have hidden, stuffed, ignored, or didn’t realize where within you.
This circle is limited to six women (CIS, Transgender, and AFAB non-binary are all welcome) to help create a more intimate and safe environment for us to dig into this work together. We begin on October 1 and end March 31. There are bi-weekly (every other week) group calls, bi-weekly emails, and a private on-line group (on Facebook) where we will check in and connect between our calls.
I would be thrilled if you joined us. If you have any questions or would like to connect for a 30-minute chat to see if this circle is right for you, I’d love to hear from you!
To learn more about the circle and to register you can go right here.
If you’d like to have a 30-minute chat with me, fill out the form on this page and we’ll get something on our calendars soon.
Whether you join us in this circle or not, I hope that you have an amazing season to come.
